Bradford City co-owner Mark Lawn is upset that Peterborough United went public with their bid for Nahki Wells.

Posh chairman Darragh MacAnthony admitted the club had an offer — thought not to under £1m —  turned down during a Q&A session with supporters on Twitter.

It’s the first known offer for the Bermuda striker, who is hot property after 26 goals last season and two Wembley appearances.

Huddersfield Town, Leeds United and Burnley have all watched the 23-year-old.

Lawn told the Yorkshire Post: “I am disappointed that this has been made public by Peterborough.

“As a club, we don’t want to do our transfer business in public and we are disappointed that another club has chosen to go down this road.

“All I will say is that the offer was rejected out of hand and that the matter ended there.”

Wells, now back in pre-season training, has two years remaining on his contract and admitted to the Bermuda Sun previously he would listen to offers that would help him further his career.
