Football squad named for Island Games

The BFA announced the list of players and officials that will be representing Bermuda at this year’s Island Games for football.

The men’s team is made up of Freddie Hall, John Barry Nusum, Marco Warren, Antwan Russell, Daniel Johnson, Jalen Harvey, Drewonde Bascome, Angelo Simmons, Cecoy Robinson, Dominique Williams, Domico Coddington, Keishan Bean, Zeiko Lewis, Roger Lee, Wendel Tre Ming, Lejaun Simmons, Damon Ming, Tyrell Burgess, Shakir Smith, and Rai Simons.

Andrew Bascome will coavh the team, along with his assistants Dennis Brown and Larry Smith. Baden Cashmore will be the team’s trainer, and Stan Bean will be the manager.

The women’s team will feature Stacy Babb, Sarai Paul, Whitnae Duerr, Kashintae Fox, Leanne Yates, Waynesha Bean, Teara Thomas, Rayni Maybury, Aaliyah Nolan, Akela Furbert, Cleshaunay Darrell, Dominique Richardson, Jessica Furtado, Jenay Edness, Cheyra Bell, Khyla Brangman, Keunna Dill, Shuntae Todd, Tshana Wade, and Tamisha Darrel.

Naquita Robinson will coach the team, who will be assisted by Aaron Denkins and Wayne Smith.  Shirlene Dill will be the team trainer, and Alicia Zuill will be the manager.

The men’s and women’s team will open up their Island Games bid with matches against Greenland at the National Sports Centre on July 14. The women play at 6pm, and the men play at 8pm.
