Paul Decouto went to the top of the ASRA SuperStock Expert class in last weekend’s racing in Wisconsin.
Decouto entered eight races on his Cycle Care Limited bikes, a GSXR 1000 and GSXR 750, and came away with seven podium finishes in eight races.
While he did have three first place finishes, the biggest result was his third in the SuperStock Expert Class. That allowed the Bermudian to go to the top of the standings halfway through the eight race series.
Decouto now has 103 points, 26 ahead of second place Timothy Bemisderfer from Greencastle, Pennsylvania. Eric Helmbach from Chester, New Jersey is third on 72 points.
Decouto was beaten on the weekend at the Road America track in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin by professional racer John Farrell. The pro rider broker the ASRA Pro SuperStock lap record that had been held by Jeff Wood.
Decouto said in a press release: “Jason is a very talented rider, a true inspiration and down to earth, friendly guy.”
Decouto also won both races in the Expert Heavyweight Supersport Class and also topped the podium in the Expert Formula 40 Class. He was second in both Expert Unlimited Superbike races and had a fourth and a second in the Expert Unlimited GP Class.
His next race in the series is in two weeks at the New Jersey Motorsports park in Millville, New Jersey.
