Woman assaulted near Warwick Long Bay

Around 3:30pm on Monday, July 1st police officers responded to a reported assault in the vicinity of Warwick Long Bay. It appears that a 27 year old Paget woman was approached by an unknown male who accosted her and then brandished a bladed article; however she was not injured.

Officers subsequently located and stopped the suspect in a car being driven along South Road in Southampton. The 34 year old Paget man was arrested without further incident. Inquiries are ongoing and any witnesses are encouraged to contact the Somerset Criminal Investigation Unit on 234-1010.
