The Visitor Industry Partnership (VIP), in partnership with our sponsor, the Bermuda Tourism Board is pleased to announce the official launch of the Take Bermuda With You … and Pass it On programme.
This programme is designed to promote tourism to Bermuda by providing travelling residents and visitors with a handy wallet size card containing travel-related information as well as a reference map showing just how close Bermuda is to the eastern seaboard and the UK.
VIP Chair, Dr Barbara O’Shaughnessy said: “The next time you meet someone overseas and they say, Wow, Where’s Bermuda? or How do I get there? - instead of drawing a map of Bermuda on a napkin, you can reach for a card and show them the close proximity of Bermuda and which airlines and cruise lines service Bermuda. There is also a space where you can write your name, e-mail or your recommendation on what to do in Bermuda. The smartphone link takes you to the Department of Tourism’s website and the Take Bermuda With You and Pass it On landing page http://gotobermuda.com/takebermuda with specific information on how to book a holiday to Bermuda. The pretty pictures of Bermuda will provide great talking points to engage a prospective visitor. The most important marketing tool is word-of-mouth advertising. We hope that everyone will take the opportunity to become an ambassador for Bermuda the next time they travel”.
Just reach into your pocket and pass along this handy, credit card size, information card and invite someone to learn more about a vacation to Bermuda.
David Dodwell, Chair of the Bermuda Tourism Board said: “One of the significant advantages of a Bermuda vacation is that we are just two to three hours from most gateway cities in the northeast and this programme highlights our close proximity.”
The Take Bermuda With You and Pass it On signs and cards can be found at La Trattoria Café/Sports Bar, the Boulevard Café and Island Coffee in the departures area of the L. F. Wade International airport and in the Bermuda.com to-go display boxes at eighteen other locations throughout the island.
Nicky Russo from La Trattoria Airport Operations is proud to have the Take Bermuda With you signs and cards in his restaurants at the airport, “We are happy to support this programme as it gets the message out about Bermuda and use Bermuda’s best resource – its people, to do so”.
Residents and Repeat Visitors are proud of Bermuda and look for opportunities to tell people about Bermuda and why Bermuda is So Much More. If you are going to a conference, think about getting a sufficient number of cards to put in the conference welcome bags or place them on the meeting room chairs. The bright, colorful pictures give a flavor of Bermuda and the travel information will help someone book their next vacation to Bermuda.
Joanne McPhee, Chair of the Tourism Appreciation Committee for the Bermuda Tourism Board said: “We are thrilled to endorse this VIP initiative as it is a simple, sensible and effective way for Bermuda residents to carry the message and for Bermuda visitors to encourage their family and friends to come and see us”.
The Visitor Industry Partnership’s mission is to inspire the people of Bermuda to work together and make a commitment to revitalize the Visitor Industry to be globally competitive in the 21st century. We believe that improving the Visitor Industry is indivisible from the well being of Bermuda.
