Walton Brown beats Government Minister Wayne Perinchief in Pembroke Central
Tuesday, September 27: Ex-Senator and political pundit Walton Brown tonight ousted sitting MP and National Security Minister Wayne Perinchief in Pembroke Central.
He won the primary contest in the safe PLP seat and will contest the next General Election, subject to central party approval.
Mr Brown said: “I’m ready to work and address some of the issues.. That’s why I wanted to be involved in politics and get into Parliament – to address the major issues. I now have the opportunity to do exactly that.”
Mr Perinchief could not be contacted for comment.
The results so far in the PLP’s round of primaries are:
Constituency 6 (Hamilton West): Wayne Furbert
Constituency 7 (Hamilton South): Diallo Rabain (Defeated incumbent Darius Tucker)
Constituency 17 (Pembroke Central) Walton Brown (Defeated incumbent Wayne Perinchief)
Constituency 21 (Pembroke South East): Rolfe Commissiong (Defeated incumbent Ashfield DeVent)
Constituency 29 (Southampton East): Zane DeSilva (Replaces retiring Stanley Lowe)
Constituency 32 (Southampton West): Randy Horton
Constituency 34 (Sandys South Central): Kim Wilson (Replaces retiring Walter Lister).
Constituency 35 (Sandys North Central): Dennis Lister.
