Viewpoint / What do you think of the bus service?
Veronica Raynor, 65Former fashion designer
'There aren't enough buses for when those huge cruise ships come in. There is nowhere for the locals to sit as the buses are already filled up with tourists. The drivers have to go straight past bus stops, it's not fair.'
George Philip, 35BNY Mellon
'The buses aren't that reliable. It's not as bad as in some countries but the no.4 is never on time, it's absolutely crazy for a small island.'
Paul Albouy, 40Part-time washer-upper
'The service is okay, you just get used to it. I use the buses every day and you often have to stand because of the tourists, but they are always on time.'
Kim Simons, 36Butterfield Bank
'Most of the time it's good, but it can be a little irritating when buses are late. Then if you miss a bus you sometimes have to wait another hour. I know the no.11 is always busy. They definitely need more no.11s.'
Char-lee Hayward, 20Teacher
'The buses aren't clean enough and there aren't enough of them on some routes. The no.4 and no. 10 don't run late enough. And between 5pm and 6pm you have to be the first person in line to get a seat. There are never enough seats.'
Owen Place, 33Laundry worker, chef
'It's alright. When tourist season comes around it gets kind of hard to get a seat, but you just have to have patience. But they need to change the times of the buses, make them a lot later. The last bus to Spanish Point is at 6pm, it's a joke.'
