U-19s beat pile up 119-run victory
Joshua Gilbert (3 for 28 from 10) and Deunte Darrell (2 for 18 from 6.3 overs) ripped through the Cayman middle order on a turning wicket in Canada yesterday.
Earlier Darrell, man of the match, had chipped in with 33, while Regino Smith scored 34 as Bermuda posted 218 for 9 in 50 overs.
Seamer Lateef Trott (2 for 13 from 10) got stuck into the Cayman top order early on before the spinners finished the job.
The win gives Bermuda, who thrashed Argentina on Monday, a 100 per cent record going into today's pivotal game against the U.S..
The top two from this tournament go on to the World Cup qualifier, featuring the likes of Ireland, Scotland and Kenya, in Kenya later this year. And with the States and Canada boasting strong squads it will come down to two from three for those spots.
Bermuda 218 for 9 in 50 overs (Regino Smith 34, Deunte Darrell 33, Terryn Fray 26) beat Cayman 102 all out in 42 overs (Joshua Gilbert 3 for 28, Deunte Darrell 2 for 18) by 116 runs.[[In-content Ad]]
