Tuff Dogs conquer White Mountains
Tuff Dogs picked up two runs in the first and then added four in the second thanks to a solo shot by Bradley Barton (2-4) and a three-run homer by Ryan Gaglio (3-4). White Mountain pulled two runs back in the third when new player Bruno Richard (2-3) slammed a two-run homer. The Dogs bit back with another four in the third, including Barton hitting his second homer of the game.
Both teams played fairly evenly at that point to the end of the game. Lovintz Tota 94-4) and Kevin Taylor (3-4) showed great plate discipline for Tuff Dogs while Brian Hawitt was 2-3 for White Mountain.
Docksiders slipped past Island Construction by scoring seven runs in the last two innings and won 21 to 15.
The two sides were knotted at five runs after two innings as Josh strong (3-5) hit a three-run blast for Island Construction. The team was able to keep pace thanks to Ryan Calhoun 93-5, HR, 3 RBI), Richard Medeiros (4-5, 3 RBI) and Jermaine Jeffers (3-4, HR, 4 RBI). But ultimately it was Trevor Ferguson (4-6) who helped lift Docksiders to the win.
Ferguson knocked in five of his team's runs in the last two innings with a single and a homer. Herbie Adderley (3-4) and Andrew Parsons (4-5) were two of Docksiders' best hitters despite being at the bottom of the order.
Killer Goldfish were found floating after Endurance bombed them 20 to 5. The Fish managed only seven hits with Alex Styche and Greg Bell contributing two each. Styche and Ryan Davidge homered in the losing cause.
In spite of the lack of run support by the Killer Goldfish, this game was still competitive until Endurance plated 10 batters in the sixth inning. Pat Kenehan (4-5, HR), Mickey Dotzel (3-4, HR, 4 RBI) and Eric Totten (3-4) were the big hitters for Endurance.
Sea Venture mercied A.F. Smith 21 to 3 in a men's game as Mark 'Butter' Herauf went 4-5 with a homer and 5 RBI. Team-mates Steven Simons (4-5), Mclaren Lowe (3-4, HR, 4 RBI) also chipped in for the triumph. Joanie Harper (3-3, 2 RBI) was the top hitter for A.F. Smith. Former police commissioner Jonathan Smith was 3-4 in the losing effort.
