Tropical Storm Watch ended as Katia curves away
THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 8: A Tropical Storm Watch for Hurricane Katia was lifted this evening as the storm continues to move north and away from the island.
Katia is no longer considered a threat to Bermuda, although forecasters said strong winds associated with the massive weather front will not ease off until the weekend.
At 6pm Katia was 286 nautical miles west-northwest of Bermuda and moving north at around 14 knots.
Tropical Storm Maria is expected to be 742 nautical miles to the south of Bermuda on Sunday evening, but is not listed as threat at the moment.
Tropical Storm Nate is following its predicted track from the Gulf of Mexico toward the Mexican coast.
