The Salty Dogs filled 27 bags with bottles from the shoreline. They also retrieved two motorbikes, car batteries and tyres.
Up to 13 athletes took part in the clean-up last Saturday, focusing on a 20 sq. metre area east of the Harrington Sound Primary School public dock.
Team member Reid Robinson said: “We swim off the dock for training so had noticed this area was particularly bad for bottles.
“We were surprised at how much trash we found. We hope to come back in the New Year to make more of a dent in it.”
The team want to thank Triangle Diving for donating SCUBA equipment. They also want to thank their sponsors Inside Out Wellness Centre, Robertson’s Drug Store, Buzz, BISL, Mayflower Management Services, Herrs, Cornerstone Development Group, Solar Bermuda and Mohr Electric.
