He said: "I want to congratulate all the players, coaches and supporters of the Bermuda Women's Field Hockey programme for a successful Pan Am Cup. "I received e-mails from some of those who attended the international competition and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. They speak of valiant efforts on the pitch by the Bermuda National Team and they talk of a well-run professional operation.
"I understand the quality of our Astroturf pitch at the National Sports Centre is also something to be proud of. I will have a word with the Sports Minister to ensure we have a plan in place to keep that facility at the highest possible level of international standards. After all, our showing at the home-hosted Pan Am Cup has proven to me our country can build a strong future in women's field hockey. On behalf of the Government of Bermuda, I once again offer my congratulations. Keep up the good work!"
