FRIDAY, DECEMBER 21: D-Vario Thompson and Alex Marshall are favourites for glory after the draw was made for the 2012 Digicel Bermuda National Junior Squash Championships.

Thompson and Marshall were revealed as top seeds for the Boys’ and Girls’ Under-19 tournament respectively for the two-day competition that starts on December 27 at the BSRA on Middle Road, Devonshire.

Over 50 children between the ages of seven and 18 will take part in the various age-group categories, with some fantastic matches in store.

Tiye Williams, Bermuda’s highest finisher in last week’s Canadian Junior Open is seeded #1 in both the Girls’ Under 15 and 17 events and is targeting her first-ever national title double.

Aiming for a similar feat in the Boys’ under 13 and 15 events is Dylan Pratt, although he will face tough opposition from Dylan Muldoon and Anaya Smith.

Bermuda Squash Racquets Association director of squash Patrick Foster said in a press release: “After great performances from the kids internationally last week at the Canadian Junior Open they are all ready to jump back on to the courts and compete for the Digicel National Titles. It should be an exciting couple of days at the BSRA”

All the main finals will take place between 12-3pm on December 28.
