Top 10 finish for Pan Am bowlers

WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 26: The men’s bowling team of Levinc Samuels and Damien Matthews finished ninth in the men’s doubles competition at the Pan Am Games in Mexico on Wednesday. The pair had a pin fall of  2,262.

June Dill and Dianne Jones were 14th in the women’s competition.

Both squads were in action last night but scores were not available at press time.

Continental League

Bob Marley may have sung ‘We be Jammin’, but the Pinjammers lived up to it. The team had the biggest win in the Freisenbruch-Meyer Continental League with a 26 to 4 victory over The Invaders.

The win allowed them to gain six games on league leader Quickie Lickie Laundry. Harold Minors led all bowlers with a 231 game and 623 series.

Donna Carmichael was the top woman with a 208 game which she parlayed into a 544 series.

Commercial League

BTC stretched its lead with a 3-1 triumph over second place Colonial Braves.

Terrylyn Jones (189) barely had the women’s high scratch game over Tiffany Caisey (188) and Charmain Smith (186).

Patrick Walker (222) led a trio of men over the 200 mark with John Adams (215) and Jaime Ford (203) joining him. Ford had the men’s high handicap series with a 654 with Sandra Scott topping the women with a 651.

Pin Raiders picked up ground on first place Pembroke Jrs with a 24.5 to 5.5 win over Sparks.

Dean Lightbourn rolled a 237 as the foundation for his league-best 656 series. Hilton Hayward had the top game with a 241 and Chris Leverock rolled a 237 on his way to a 598. Miles Smith had the third high series with a 589.

Mixed Majors

Fight Back topped the 100 win mark with a 17 to 3 triumph over Strikers.

The win helped Fight Back extend their league lead to eight games over Gang in Blue.

Fhia Sherlock rolled a 227, bettering Patrice Tucker and Pat Bell by five pins. Bell had the top series with a 630 followed by Tucker (599) and Jennifer Stovell (566).

Jermaine Desilva had a spectacular night and misses a 700 series by one pin. He had the high game with a 246. David Maycock turned his 227 game into a 617 series. Matthew Viney (236 game) and Carl Reid (642 series) also rolled well.

Ann Botelho rolled a 201 and Richard Zuill a 246 to have the men’s and women’s high games.

High handicap series honours went to Danita Gibbons (686) and Matthew Viney (679).
