The 'Hammering Hairdresser' to help headline Police boxing night
Renegades rugby star Tom Healy, MR Onions footballer Mark Dunlop and hairdresser Joshua Smith are among the regulars hoping to get in the ring at the Fairmont Southampton on October 27.
Caribbean Amateur Boxing Association silver medalist Ryan Lampano is also on the Bermuda team along with police officers Asaph Rawlins, Lloyd Peterkin and Robyn Swan.
They will be up against a team of boxers from the New York Police Department, Worcester PD and the Massachusetts State Police. The night will also feature two local bouts with police rookie Juan Looby taking on constable Michael Harkin as they both make their first foray into the boxing ring.
In the female super heavyweight division Vanessa Furbert will get her first taste of boxing against Avita O'Connor, who has one bout under her belt.
Tickets for the formal black tie event cost $60 and are available from the English Sports Shop, Cecile's and Boutique CC on Front Street.
