The Golden Girls strike again!
Bermuda also picked up a silver in track and a bronze in swimming.
Morgan Beckles, Kaisey Griffith, Hannah King, Caitlyn Mello and Riann Ming won gold in the women's team floor and vault with a total of 103 points. The Isle of Man was second at 98.85 and the Faroe Islands was third at 98.3.
Griffith starred in the floor exercise with a score of 13.1, which was not only good enough to lead Bermuda but all the rest of the competitors as well.
In fact, Bermuda had four of the five highest scores in floor with Mello and Ring putting up 12.7s on the judges cards and Beckles scoring 12.65.
Both Beckles and Mello led the competition in the vault with 13.0s with Griffith (12.95) and King (12.90) being the next best competitors.
If the gymnasts can put up similar totals in the individual events, they could end up with sweeps boosting Bermuda's medal total considerably.
Jeneko Place earned Bermuda's first silver and first in track in field when he ran a 21.65 200 metres, barely losing out gold to Robert Ibeh of the Cayman Islands. Ibeh ran a 21.60.
Place qualified for the final by running a 21.88 in his semi-final heat, but fellow Bermudian Xavier Place didn't move on after posting a 22.48.
Bermuda's 4x50m women's freestyle relay won bronze with a time of 1:49.10. The team of Rebecca Heyliger, Morgan Hopkins, Ashley and Nicole Yearwood was just under two seconds slower than the Faroe Islands.
