Tai Home is the perfect stress-reliever
WEDNESDAY, DEC. 5: It’s often said that we should take care of our bodies in order to feel good all the time.
That means exercising, eating well and getting enough sleep.
But it also means stress relief and stress relief in my book equals the spa.
On Friday, I was afforded the opportunity to visit the new Tai Home Spa on Laffan Street.
The business opened within the last few weeks and is owned by Juan and Kwan Smith.
The treatment I had was a combination of a stress relief massage and a traditional Asian massage.
Before going in, I told Mr Smith I had been very stressed lately and needed a treatment that would help me alleviate that stress.
When I walked in, I was greeted in the reception area, which was warm and inviting with deep burgundy and gold décor.
Jen was my therapist of the day and greeted me with a spa robe as she led me to the treatment room.
Once I had changed, Jen came in and asked about my problem areas and where I am the most stressed.
After we had a quick chat, the massage began. It usually takes me a little while to fully relax but once Jen began the treatment, she was able to get me to relax quickly.
Not only did she work out the kinks in my neck and shoulders, but she also performed a deep tissue massage on my back.
I had never had any sort of stretching while getting a massage so that was new to me but definitely appreciated.
Because I am not the most flexible person, the stretching hurt a bit but it was needed.
Jen kept telling me the importance of taking care of our bodies so that when we get old we aren’t feeble.
After she massaged my body, Jen performed a scalp massage, which also helped with my stress.
Overall, it was one of the best massages I have ever had with excellent pressure.
The combination of regular massage and the stretching was a winning combination.
Try out Tai Home Spa — at LaffanHouse, 14 Laffan Street — when you get a chance. I assure you, you won’t be disappointed.
