Staff win diversity awards

WEDNESDAY, DEC. 5: Nine HSBC employees were nominated by fellow staff members as helping create an atmosphere of diversity at the Bank.

The HSBC Bermuda Diversity Council announced the 2012 HSBC Bermuda Diversity Award recipients as Rachid Alami-Merrouni, Julia Saltus, Erin Lovell, Calviolatta (Tina) Durham, Bruce Fox, Teresa Watts, William DaCosta, Mariana Teixeira and Amanda Scaife.

The nine were nominated by fellow Bank staff who are seeking to create a culture in the workplace where people are valued for who they are, their perspective, viewpoint and their contribution to our business success.

The new Diversity Awards Programme, launched in June of this year, is designed to recognize Bank staff who have gone above and beyond to further diversity and inclusion within the Bank and/or the wider Bermuda community.

Simon Des-Estages, co-chair of the HSBC Bermuda Diversity Council, said in a press release: “It is critical to our success within Bermuda and beyond that we celebrate and encourage diversity and inclusive behaviour, ensuring all HSBC Bermuda employees are given an equal opportunity for success and feel valued and respected by their colleagues.”
