THURSDAY, MAY 10, 10:50PM: St George's Mayor Kenneth Bascome held onto the post tonight after beating challenger Alfonso Harris.
Mr Bascombe took 299 votes (64.4 per cent) of the vote, compared to the 131 votes (33.5 per cent) taken by local businessman Mr Harris.
Renee Anderson-Ming, Francis Quinell and Eric Rothwell were all elected as Aldermen.
In the meantime, Graeme Outerbridge, who stood in Hamilton as part of “Team Hamilton”, appeared close to pulling off a shock victory against incumbent Mayor Charles Gosling.
Final results are not yet in – but he appears to have a clear lead, despite a low turnout.
