Soundstage knocks off Tuff Dogs in extra innings

Docksiders Tuff Dogs 14
Three runs in the top of the eight inning was the decider in this exciting see-saw affair. Tuff Dogs led 12-6 after four innings with Steve O'Flynn (4-5, HR, 5 RBI) supplying some of the power. Paul Aviles (4-5) also homered as did Ryan Gaglio (1-5). But it was this power that would be Tuff Dogs downfall.
Soundstage took the lead when they plated seven runs in the fifth with Paulo Arruda (2-4) homering. Barry Zurbachen (3-3) stretched Sound Stage's lead to two runs in the seventh but Tuff Dogs tied it with two in the bottom of the frame.
Sound Stage scored three times in their half of the extra inning. The game ended when Adam Mattal and Aviles hit back-to-back balls out of the park for outs.
It was the first loss of the season for Docksiders and kept Sound Stage in first place.
Marsh Madness 12,
Volcanic Uzi Fish 13
Somers Carr (1-4) drove in Alex Styche (2-4) in the bottom of the seventh to keep Volcanic's playoff hopes alive. Uzi Fish scored four runs in each of the first three innings with Dan Bortoli (3-3) supplying a grand slam in the third inning. Greg Bell (3-4) and Shamas Durkin (3-4) were the other big hitters for Volcanic.
Marsh started well with six in the first, two on one of Darren Green's three homers. Marsh had 12 runs through the first four inning and failed to score thereafter. Mike Sterzuk was 3-5.
Sound Stage 26,
Marsh Madness 23
Steve Simons and Paul DeCouto were both 5-5 as Sound Stage scored the winning runs in their last at bat for the fifth time this season. Blaine Bernard (4-4) and Darren Green (4-4, 2 HRs) were the big hitters for Marsh who staged a four-run last inning rally to make this game close.
P & M 7, Precision Cabling Panthers 0
P & M Electric kept their second place standing as the Panthers defaulted this contest.
C Division
TPC Tees 7, JLT Park 12
JLT scored 11 runs over the last three frames to come from behind this game. Chris Heinicke (3-4) hit a two-run homer in the seventh to help JLT have a little breathing room. Leadoff hitter Justin Brookes was 4-4.
Jamal Lottimore (4-4), Dean Lottimore (2-3) and Shervin Jennings (2-3) were the top hitters for TPC.
Citi 21, TOC Tees 14
Citi scored 14 runs in the fifth inning to blow open a close game. They were gifted six straight walks in the fifth and then used some timely hitting to pick up the victory. Marc Weaver (4-5) had four doubles for Citi while teammate Mike Korff was also 4-5.
Shervin Jennings was 3-4 for TPC, including a double and a triple.
