Softball teams wanted
The Summer Softball League will be holding its Annual General Meeting on Thursday, May 8 at Robin Hood. All teams wishing to participate in the upcoming season should have a representative present, either in person or by proxy.
A kick-off party will follow the conclusion of the meeting.
There are currently two proposals, which will be voted on at the General Meeting. Feel free to discuss with your players and prepare to make comments at the meeting.
1) Men to use wooden bats for the teams registered in the A/B Divisions
2) Replace the current OOP Homerun limit with a Maximum + 2 limit. That is, a team can only have 2 more homeruns than their opponents at any point in the game, with anything more than that an automatic out. The cap of three OOP homeruns (four in the Men's Division) will be removed, and there will be no more OOP singles.
Contact Greg Carey at 296-5888 x 2107 during the day for further details.
Preece Hall of Fame
celebration
Long-serving umpire Michael Preece will have his local induction to the International Softball Hall of Fame on Saturday, June 14 at the Fairmont Hamilton Princess Hotel. This will be a black tie affair. More details will be replaced in the coming weeks.[[In-content Ad]]
