Snappers increase lead

With three 800 games, Snappers rolled off an easy four-point victory against Piranhas in a matchup of the Fishbowl League's top teams. Snappers went into the contest with a half game lead over their rivals and proceeded to roll an 801, 800 and 814 for a 2,415 series to sweep the match from Piranhas who bowled an off-form 2,132.

Wahoo led all teams with a 2,483 series and easily took four points from Dolphins. In what will be one of the unlikeliest whitewashes of the year, Orca downed Mackerel 4-0. Orca had the third lowest series with a 2,196, but Mackerel were even worse with a pinfall of only 2,083.

The league's other results were all 3-1 with Marlins over Jellyfish, Hinds downing Tuna, Goldfish beating Porgies and Barracuda defeating Cow Pollies.

Marguerite Lynch (220 game and 652 handicap series) was the top female bowler for the night. Peggy Mello (201, 624) was also outstanding.

There were plenty of 200s amongst the men with David Mello leading the way, but just barely. Mello rolled a 223 and edged out Joshua Bento (221) and Stephen Paul (221) for the top honour. Carlos Estravit (216) also made the honours list.

Mello also had the high handicap series with a 690 while Paul (664) and Brian Hollis (661) were second and third.

Porgies 16.5-23.5; 11. Orca 15.5-24.5; 12. Dolphins 15-25; 13. Mackerel 14.5-25.5; 14. Jellyfish 14.5-25.5.

Commercial League

King Pins took three games from Double Trouble to close within two points of the league lead. BTC could have gone to the top of the league with a sweep but lost 3-1 to Braves. Both Sunset and Do It Best Masters ran out 4-0 winners over Royal Gazette and Sweet Life respectively.

The league's other match saw Spinners defeat Strikers 3-1.

Troy Darrell led all men with a 218 game. Anthony Smith (212), Kenny Ford (202) and Robert 'Dixie' Symonds (202) also topped the 200 mark.

Kristal Davis was the top female bowler with a 185, edging out Malikah Symonds (183) and Kennelyn Smith (180).

Symonds did come up with the high handicap series with a 496. Doreeen Smith (476) and Davis (475) were second and third.

Anthony Smith (558) beat Symonds by three pins to take the top spot for the men. John Adams (524) had the third high handicap series for the men.

Barritt's League

The Pembroke Jrs kept a narrow lead over PHC with a 27 to 3 triumph over Stash T. PHC steamrolled Sparks 26 to 4. Buy & Sell kept a lock on third place by doubling up Southside Two 20 to 10.

Other scores saw Logic Rollers beat The Old & The New 22 to 8 and Southside 1 edging Young Bloods 17 to 13.

Antoine Jones had the high game with a 256. Vernon Daniels (244) and Wilfred 'Lew' Furbert (244) tied for the second high game.
