Snappers grab Fishbowl lead

Snappers moved to the top of the Fishbowl standings with an emphatic win over Barracuda. Snappers took 3.5 of the four points to move a half point ahead of Piranhas.

Snappers' Captain Ann Mitchell had a great night as she rolled a 189 scratch game on her way to a 660 handicap series. Malikah Symonds bowled well (211 game), but it wasn't enough.

Piranhas picked up three points against Jellyfish as they rolled a team high scratch series of 2,149. Jackie Miller led the way for Piranhas with a 258 scratch game and a 729 series.

Wahoo took four from Goldfish, powered by a league high handicap series of 2,510. Joseph Benevides was the big man for Wahoo with a 223 scratch game and a 682 handicap series.

Marlins whitewashed Orca 4-0 and Porgies did likewise to Dolphins in a night of many mismatches. The Marlins used Richard Zuill's 237 game and 584 scratch series as a foundation for the victory.

Porgies bowled well behind captain Cathy Kemp's 254 scratch game, 650 series and Juliette Smith's 652 series.

Other scores saw Tuna reel in Mackerel 3-1 and Hinds downed Cow Pollies 3-1.

Standings: 1. Snappers 10.5 points; 2. Piranhas 10, 3. Tuna 9.5; 4. Porgies 8; 5. Wahoo 8; 6. Marlins 7; 7. Hinds 7; 8. Barracuda 5.5; 9. Goldfish 4; 10. Orca 4; 11. Dolphins 4; 12. Mackerel 3; 13. Jellyfish 2; 14. Cow Pollies 1.5.

Warriors League

Cherokee are now the big chiefs of the Warrior League after a 4-0 scalping if the Choctaw. The Blackfoot were bumped off the top spot after suffering a 1-3 loss to Commanche.

Mohawk and Navaho split their series as did Kickapoo and Mohican. Charles Williams rolled a 210 for the only 200. Wayne Robinson (184), Oreann White (194) and Susie Bradshaw (180) also had top naturals. High handicap series honours went to Katrina Caines (684) and Charles Charves (637). Peter Trott (627) and Janice Binns (617).
