Smith, King get Olympic nods

Long jumpers Arantxa King and Tyrone Smith are awaiting confirmation to be added to Bermuda's Olympic team to the Beijing Games.

Bermuda Olympic Association vice-president Michael Cherry said the BOA was just waiting for the International Amateur Athletic Federation to ratify them as Bermuda's male and female track and field athletes for the Games.

The pair will join triathlete Flora Duffy, show jumper Patrick Nisbett, and swimmers Kiera Aitken and Roy Burch as Bermuda's team for the game.

The long jumpers could lose their Olympic spots in the unlikely event that another athlete made the qualifying standard between now and July 23.
