WEDNESDAY, SEP. 12:
Badminton
Players interested in representing the Bermuda badminton team at the NatWest Island Games, on July 13 to 19 here in Bermuda, should contact Mark Haugen at 533-0124 or e-mail him at [email protected] or www.natwestislandgames2013.com. The dealine is November 1.
Cricket
The Warrington Soup Zuill Memorial Cricket Match will take place on Sunday, September 16 at noon at St David’s. This 35 over match will feature the Bermuda Sun versus the Jamaican Association.
Golf
The deadline for registration for the Bermuda Amateur Team Championship is Monday, September 17 at noon. The event is open to club teams, corporate teams, association teams or just a bunch of golfing buddies. The tournament will be played at Riddell’s Bay Golf Club on September 22. There will be a shotgun start at 12:30pm, followed by cocktails and prizes.
The prizes are for the winning team, individual low gross and net as well for longest drives and closest to the pin.
Application forms are available from the Bermuda Golf Association office or call 295-9972.
Motorcycles
The Bermuda Motorcycle Racing Club executive committee would like to remind its members of the scheduled monthly general membership meeting to be held this Wednesday, September 12th, 2012.
Cyril Whitter, president of the BMRC, said: “We are blessed to have had minimal effects from Hurricane Leslie and although our event scheduled for this past weekend had to be postponed we look forward to hosting the rescheduled event this Sunday, September 16, 2012.”
The meeting is scheduled for BIU Headquarters from 7pm to 8pm today.
The agenda will cover: Financial Position (Review of BMRC financial position as at August 31); Motor Sports Park Track Setup (Setup of motor sports facility and drilling of safety tyres); Race Event Administration (Registration - early bird fees and times, gate fees and gate prizes); Club Fundraiser (Signup for scheduled fundraiser on September 29); Rulebook Review for 2013-14 (Input for rulebook amendments) September 23rd Event (Shared use of facility with the Bermuda Bicycle Association).
Softball
Last week’s scores Beauties n Beasts run their record to 2-0 in the 5n5 coed league with a 30 to 6 win over new team Tokio. I’d Hit That evened its record to 1-1 with an 8 to 6 victory over P&M.
In Women’s league play, Angels beat Sky Lights 23 to 8 and Hard Knockz downed PHC 21 to 5.
In the A Division, Precision Panthers defeated Outback 14 to 5 while Bermuda Pest Control slipped past Docksiders Tuff Dogs 17 to 15.
Tonight’s contests at the Michael Preece Softball Stadium has the ladies in action with Hard Knockz playing Angels at 6:30pm and PHC taking on Sky Lights at 8pm.
