Lennon Shop is now open

Ahead of next week’s big tribute concert for John Lennon, an online shop has opened selling memorabilia.

Located at www.doublefantasybermuda.com/shop, the online store has books, CDs, t-shirts and EPs for sale.

The Lennon Tribute Concert is scheduled for September 21 at the Botanical Gardens.

Montpelier dividend

The board of directors of Montpelier Re Holdings Ltd has declared a quarterly dividend of $0.105 per Common Share and $0.554688 per 8.875% Non Cumulative Preferred Share, Series A.

The dividends are payable on or about October 15, 2012, to all shareholders of record as of September 28, 2012.

Fairmont

The Fairmont Southampton and The Fairmont Hamilton Princess confirmed that regular business operations were maintained without interruption during Tropical Storm Leslie, which passed to the east of Bermuda on Sunday, September 9.

To ensure the safety and security of its guests and colleagues, each hotel team followed a comprehensive hurricane preparedness plan, and the properties were well equipped to handle the storm if it had made landfall as a Category 2 Hurricane as earlier predicted.

“With Tropical Storm Leslie behind us, September continues to be a wonderful time to visit Bermuda,” said George Terpilowski, managing director of Fairmont Hotels, Bermuda.

“We encourage anyone considering a visit to Bermuda to move forward with their travel plans secure in the knowledge that it is business as usual at The Fairmont Southampton and The Fairmont Hamilton Princess. 

“We hope that guests who had their visits cut short or postponed will return to Bermuda in the near future.”

Platinum results

Platinum Underwriters Holdings, Ltd. will report financial results for the quarter ended September 30, 2012 after the close of trading on the New York Stock Exchange on Wednesday, October 17, 2012.

One Beacon

OneBeacon Insurance Group, Ltd. has formed its newest specialty business—OneBeacon Surety Group. The new business is managed by OneBeacon Surety Group President Chad Anderson and will focus on a broad variety of commercial surety business in all 50 states in America, as well as Puerto Rico, Canada and Mexico. Anderson reports to OneBeacon’s President and Chief Executive Officer Mike Miller.
