WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 3: Bermuda has a "wonderful chance" to qualify for the Cricket World Cup again.
This from West Indies star Ramnaresh Sarwan.
The Guyana batsman was on the island in partnership with Digicel Bermuda and the Bermuda Cricket Board to help run some cricket clinics for youth players.
Fast bowler Jerome Taylor also helped instruct the youngsters.
Sarwan said because Bermuda competed at the 2007 World Cup, it has an advantage over other countries who have not been to the world’s greatest cricket tournament.
Sarwan said: “They have a wonderful chance. They did it before.
“Anyone who participates in that tournament stands a chance (of qualifying again). “It depends on who wants it the most.
“Obviously, there’s going to be a chance for Bermuda and being so close to Bermuda I would like them to qualify again.”
Sarwan said in order for Bermuda to make its second appearance in the Cricket World Cup the players “need to have the hunger to be on the biggest stage ever.
“I’m sure that having played in a World Cup there’s the possibility of playing again and the recognition they would get.
“There’s a lot for Bermuda to play for because you get to play against the best teams and the best players in the world.
“I don’t think they would take that very lightly and they would cherish those opportunities.”
