Sen. Roberts-Holshouser ran in constituency 3 in the last election but lost to Government Whip Lovitta Foggo.
Speaking at a press conference today at the UBP headquarters, Sen. Roberts-Holshouser said: “This is important for me and I hope of course important for the people of Bermuda.
“I have moved into constituency 4. I am honoured to be representing the UBP.
“We have much work to do and it’s important to ensure that we have the people behind us to make sure the people of Bermuda are represented in a positive productive manner.”
Speaking on the social issues on the island, Sen. Roberts-Holshouser called for a review of the social structure.
“We must acknowledge that system for social support in the island is broken. All over the system,” she added.
Asked if she thinks she will win, the Senator said: “I believe and this is why I run. I don’t run for a political party per say. I represent a political party.
“I run for the people of Bermuda and the outcome will be the result they choose.
“I believe I will be as dedicated and hard working as I’ve always been my whole life.”
Party chairman Jean Atherden, Susan Jackson, candidate for constituency 20, and MP Charlie Swan flanked the new candidate.
