Players and teams wanted for new season

As the MLB teams prepare for spring training, the Commercial Softball League (CSL) prepares for the 2010 season. With co-ed, men's and ladies' divisions, there will be hours of ball playing (slo-pitch) at the Michael Preece Softball Stadium.

Whether you are a player, an umpire, a score-keeper, or a spectator, come and experience the fun and thrills of slo-pitch in Bermuda!

As a veteran of the CSL, it is always exciting to step back onto the diamond after a break from 'ball'; seeing old friends/nemesises as well as meeting new players. To add to the excitement this season, the CSL has decided to move to 'draft pick' format for the Men's division. This will distribute players evenly amongst teams to make the games more competitive and hopefully avoiding 'blow out' games. Though the Co-ed and the Ladies' Divisions remain as 'team entry' format, there is some buzz about mirroring the 'draft pick' format in the Ladies' Division this season.

So, if you are a female looking to join the CSL in the Ladies' division but have difficulty rounding up enough players for a full team, this may be the season for you to join the Ladies' division.

We also invite the community to come out and cheer on your favourite team(s) or player(s) from the stands.

Men's action will take place on Monday nights at 6pm, 7:30pm and 9pm while Co-ed and Ladies divisions will play on the other nights of the week, in the same time slots.

Centrally located, it's a great escape from a hard day's work before heading home...you can even grab dinner from Doc's food stand!

Should you wish to participate in games, but not be right in the middle of all the action, we are always looking for people to umpire or scorekeep the games.

So if you wish to be a part of the game as an official, don't be shy and contact us, you will be compensated for your hard work!

For more information on Co-ed and Ladies team registration or individual registration for the Men's division, please contact Danny Cook at [email protected]. For more information on joining the Ladies' division as an individual (to be assigned to an existing team, or to be considered for 'draft pick'), please contact Amy Renton at [email protected].

For more information on how to become an official or other CSL related queries, please contact Dean Williams at [email protected].[[In-content Ad]]
