Place impresses in 126GP Class

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 22: The bikes will be back in action for the second week in a row on Sunday at the Bermuda Motorsports Park in Southside.

Peter ‘Pistol Pete’ Terceira and Haley Place dominated the racing the previous Sunday.

The pair had an epic battle.

Place is a newcomer in the GP125 class, but she certainly didn’t ride like one.

The GP 125s have to race alongside the Supermoto class.

The first heat saw Place take first relegating Terceira to a close second.

The tables turned in race two as ‘Pistol Pete’ won taking the checkered flag in front of Placeby less than 100th of second.

In the third and final race of the event Place revised her strategy to ensure that she not only took the checkered flag in first but won by a comfortable margin, taking her first two career victories in the GP125 class.  

Masala Pace took third place in all three heats securing her current championship position of second place behind championship leader Cyril Whitter III.

The 2012 Championship approaches the final leg of the series with only three rounds left.

The next round will be held this Sunday.  Terceira looks to have one hand firmly on the 2012 Supermoto Championship title but the GP125 title is still up for grabs.  With Whitter missing from action in last week’s event, Masala Place has closed the points gap leading into the final rounds.

Admission is $5 with children under 12 and seniors free. A Zeus motocross helmet will be auctioned off at halftime. Racing starts at 1pm
