Phillips proving his value
Phillips, who transferred in from the London Towers of the British Basketball League to Kaposvar of the Hungarian Basketball league over the summer, is currently ranked the fifth best player in the league thanks to his all-around ability.
The top ranked player in the HBL is George Banks, who was a former second round draft choice of the NBA's Miami Heat.
Phillips leads the league in steals with an average of 3.25 for the eight games he has played.
But it's his combination of rebounding and dishing out assists that has impressed the league and enthralled local fans. Much like Kidd, who is a triple threat, Phillips is third in the league in assists averaging 5.88, 16th in rebounds at 6.38 per game and 11th in points per game with an average of 17.75.
Phillips is seeing plenty of floor time for Kaposvar, as the floor general is averaging nearly 36 minutes a contest.[[In-content Ad]]
