Perfect start
St. David’s looking for two more wins this weekend
We're already seeing bigger crowds and more excitement.
There were three or four centuries last weekend. There hasn't been that many hundreds in any weekend all season. I think there was only six or seven in total through the 50-over season so players are really enjoying the new format.
Bowlers have to be more creative in this form of the game because the batsmen are always coming at you.
So far they have been exposed.
St David's started off well with wins against PHC and Somerset Bridge.
We were pleased to beat PHC because we had them pegged as one of the favourites. The side they have got is made for Twenty20 so that was a good win.
We've got two more games this weekend against Warwick and Social Club and if we win them we'll be almost through to the semi-finals.
Hopefully we'll see more fans coming in. There have already been bigger crowds because of the format. With two games at one venue you've got four sets of fans so it doubles the amount of people in the ground and creates an exciting atmosphere. The wickets are better for batting on at this stage of the season and it has made for some entertaining games.
This is the ideal time for it. After Cup Match and the County game people are looking for a bit of excitement and this is what they want to watch.
I'm hoping to get a few runs myself. But at the moment I'm batting down the order and leaving it to the younger guys,
That's what this season has been about for St. David's - brining through the young players. It's all about the team right now. That's the way it has been all season. The young players have taken on the responsibility. I haven't had to do that much - I didn't even get a hit at Eastern County.
We'll be marching our trophies on Saturday night from the club at 7pm. Its a little celebration for the club and we'd love to see our fans out there.
We know the season's not over yet and we'd like to have one more trophy to show off by the end of the Twenty020 cup.[[In-content Ad]]
