Palsat's homer leads Southlands to victory
Southlands swept Docksiders Tuff Dogs out of the A Division playoffs. Southlands scored all the runs they needed in the first inning when they plated eight. Monte Palsat (3-4) had the big hit of the inning with a two-run homer. Mark Herauf (1-3) hit his third homer of the series in the second inning. Art Palmer (2-4, 2 doubles) and Shannon Gosse (2-3) both had two hits for Southlands.
Adam Mattatal (2-3) and Braxton Stowe (2-3) hit homers for Docksiders while teammate Josh Strang was 3-3.
Southlands will meet Docksiders' stablemate Tuff Dogs in the final.
B Division
ACE 14, Butterfield 7
The ACE Kings raced out to a 9 to lead before the Butterfield Bulldawgs made a spirited fightback to pull within two, before the Kings put this game out of reach.
Les Dziwenka (4-4) provided the killing blow with a three-run homer in the sixth. Tina Robson, Sam Peters and Don Burgess were all 2-3 for ACE.
Donnie Moniz (HR, 2 RBI) and Brian Ward were both 3-4 while Lindsey Anderson and Chris Mclean were both 2-3 for the Bank. ACE will meet Marsh in the final.
C Division
Robin Hood 14, Scared Hitless 2
The Hood bounced back from a first game loss to pound Scared Hitless in this contest. Al Busby (4-4) drove in five runs for the Hood while teammate Tyler Hall (3-3) was also perfect at the plate. Peter Smith and Larry Peck did the job at the top of the order by both going 3-4.
Richard North and David Lade were 2-3 for Scared Hitless.
D Division
Argus 28, Bermuda Blueprinting 10
Argus advanced the division final with a convincing win. Richard Tory got things started in the first with a three-run homer. Argus added five in the second and 13 in the third to put this game in rout mode. PJ Cam (5-5) drove in six runs while teammates Dan Christie (4-5), Fran Ronan (3-4) and Samitha Runaweera (3-5, HR) contributed to the easy victory.
David Gibbons hit a first inning grand slam for Bermuda while Chris Osborne (2-3), Steven Bridges (2-3) and Keith Bridges (2-2) all had two hits.
Olympia Capital 13, Flagstone 9
Olympia Capital will meet Argus in the final as they scored four times in the last two innings to eke out this triumph. Leadoff batter Shawn Wood (5-5), John Thorne (2-2) and Peter Liabotis (2-4) were the only Capital batters to manage two hits as poor defence let Flagstone down.
Farid Ibrahim, Jason Dean and John Kitcher were all 3-4 for Flagstone while Wayne Newhook (4-4) put on a hitting clinic as Flagstone outhit Olympia 20 to 12.[[In-content Ad]]
