A Division

P & M 26, Outback 10

It was supposed to be a battle for first place, but when the dust was settled there was no doubt as to who the better team was.

P & M mercied the sports bar in six innings with Chris Coleman leading the way in going 4-5, with a homer and four RBI. It was a solid team effort for P & M as nine of the 10 batters had at least two hits. Terence Corday (4-5, HR, 3 RBI), Steven Simons (3-5), Jon Gazzard (4-5), Mark Herauf (5-5), Jon Towers (3-5, HR, 5 RBI) and Diane Blais (4-5) all swinging the bat well.

Kirk Duerden (2-3) hit two homers for Outback with teammates Mike Sterzuk, Blaine Bernard (2-4) and Justin Tomas (2-4) all having two hits.

Pest Control 25,

Rosa's Banditos 10

A 14-run fourth inning helped Pest Control squash Rosa's - 10 of those runs coming with two outs.

Ryan Davidge (4-5) smashed two homers and Rich Madeiros (2-4) hit a grand slam homer to help lead the charge.

Nate Moore (5-5) and Adam Birch (3-3) were both perfect at the plate for the winners with teammates Alex Styche (4-5) and Cam Morfitt (3-5) also batting well. Andrew Simpson (3-4, HR 6 RBI) was the top bat for the Banditos with Les Dziwenka also going 3-4.

Rosa's Banditos 16,

Caceis 13

The contest between the A Division's bottom two clubs almost saw Caceis pull off their first victory. They led most of the game and were up 11-5 going into the last two innings when Rosa's scored six times in each frame to pull off a come from behind win.

Paul DeCouto (3-4, HR, 4 RBI) and Kyle Smith (3-4) were the only Banditos to get three hits.

Dave MaCphee (4-5) was Caceis top batter but Jeff Jane (3-4), Scott Shannon (3-4, HR, 6 RBI) and Steve Houle (3-5) all had three hits.

PCS Panthers 6,

Pest Control 4

A low scoring affair saw Panthers move into the fourth playoff spot. Panthers picked up the winning runs in the sixth when Jamila Godwin (2-3) singled home Tracey Bean (1-3) and Mike Musson (2-2). Mike Jardine (2-3) also had two ribbies for the winners. Pest Control scored three of their runs in the sixth thanks in part to hits by Seamus Durbin (2-3) and Greg Bell (2-3).

Women's League

P & M 18, Lady Starz 3

P & M extended their lead at the top of the table with a mercy triumph over Starz. Carla Zuill (4-5) knocked in three runs for the title favourites. Cleanup hitter Diane Blais (3-5, 3 RBI), Stephanie Rego (3-5) and Jenn Dziwenka (3-5) also hit well to keep the runners flowing across the plate. Cassandra Trott (3-3) was the only Starz batter to get more than one hit.

EZ Grlz 21, Café Cairo 3

Grlz moved level in wins with Cairo with this resounding victory. A 14-run third inning helped end this contest early. That big inning saw Tawnee Lee (2-4) homer but Grlz were gifted 12 walks in the inning and got all those runs with the benefit of just four hits. Akanke Parson (2-2), Catherine Vu (2-3) and Zakiya Smith (1-1) were the only other Grlz batters to even have a hit for the entire game.

Diane Laird (3-3), Melissa Daponte (3-3) were Cairo's top hitters.

Other scores

Bermuda Water Tours used a nine-run sixth inning to slip past Citi. Citi had scored eight times in the first to take the early lead, thanks in part to Neil MacGuinness three-run homer. KPMG kept its unblemished record in the C Division when it beat BNY Juggernauts 17 to 15. Tan Fitzgerald was 4-4 for KPMG, including a two run homer in the first. KPMG plated six runs in that frame. Bermuda Blueprinting had to score six runs in the seventh to edge PWC 19 to 18. PWC scored twice in the last inning but their rally fell short by a run.[[In-content Ad]]
