Nationals chance to earn points for Worlds
The event - the biggest prize in squash - will bring all the top players to the island.
It will also bring an opportunity for Bermuda's best performers to try their luck at a different level.
Over the last few years Nick Kyme has been Bermuda's wildcard entry in the PSA Masters held here each April.
But the Masters will not take place this year with the island hosting the World Championships in November.
And Bermuda director of squash Ross Triffitt said there could be as many as five local competitors taking part.
The likes of Mel Caines, Chase Toogood and James Stout have all signed up for partial entry into the pro tour, allowing them to pick up enough ranking points to stand a chance of being entered in the 32-player qualifying draw, which is held in Bermuda directly before the tournament. Between four and eight players will qualify for the main draw.
"A lot could depend on the results in the national championships. The PSA has made a policy of selecting a Bermuda national for the wildcard entrant, but there are spots in qualifying as well, so some other local players will compete."
The national men's and women's championships will be contested by the top 16 ranked players in the country, who choose to enter.
All participants are reminded to call the club after 6pm tomorrow (Thursday) to check the time of their first match.[[In-content Ad]]
