WEDNESDAY, APR. 4: MJM Limited yesterday announced it has hired Bermudian Kimberley Caines as an associate, effective April 1, 2012. Ms. Caines has been a pupil at the law firm since September 2010.
Ms Caines will work primarily with leading litigator Alan Dunch in servicing and developing clients of the litigation practice group but will also work with the other practice groups within the firm.
According to a press statement, Ms. Caines, in her short career, has drafted submissions and pleadings, assisted senior counsel with case preparation and appeared in both Magistrates Court and the Supreme Court of Bermuda.
Alan Dunch, J.P., who heads the firm’s litigation practice group, said: “Kim is a bright, young Bermudian who has a long and promising career in the law ahead of her. She is the type of individual that we look to attract for the future of the firm and I’m delighted to welcome her on board as an associate.”
Ms Caines said: “My relationship with the firm started when I was a student so it was a natural transition to continue my career at MJM. I like the size of the firm, my colleagues and the high quality of the work so I’m delighted to join as an associate.”
Ms. Caines, who holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in Women’s Studies and Spanish, received a Bachelor of Laws from The City Law School in 2009 and completed the Bar Vocational Course at The City Law School in 2010.

Ms. Caines is a Member of the Bermuda Women’s Council, Devonshire Parish Council and Chairperson of Bermuda’s Emerging Professionals.
She also provides legal advice on a pro-bono basis to The Advice Clinic, Women’s Resource Centre and appears as Duty Counsel through Legal Aid.
