Minors and Dowling take line honours
Power boats
The long holiday weekend and bad weather was a double team that kept the number of entries down to just three.
Kevin Minors and Quince Dowling were first overall in D267.
Second place line honours went to D33 (stock), driven by Ryan Davidge with Geoff Law as his co-pilot.
Gregory Focke and Gregory Simons was third overall in A98.
Model boats
Paul Tew took top honours in the Sport Class with a first, second and third. Keaune Basden was the runner-up with two firsts. Unfortunately for him, he sandwiched a fifth place in between them.
Mike Lee was third with two seconds. His first race was costly as he had a DNS.
Cleun Gaiton was fourth with a DNS, third and fourth and taking fifth was Derek Simons with two DNS’ and a fourth.
Dion Steede took the Open Class title with two firsts and a second. Leo Fox was the only other competitor and had a second, first and a DNS.
Overall, Basden leads the Sport Class with 260 points. Lee is second with 190 points and Tew third with 150. Rounding out the class are Simons (140) and Gaiton (70).
Steede and Fox are co-leaders of the Open Class, with each having 280 points. n
