Rider spotlight / Haley Place
Middle school student is a veteran already
FRIDAY, JULY 27: Haley Place, who currently attends the TN Tatem Middle School, has been competing in the BMRC’s annually organized national championships for over five years. Her first year of competition started in the “mini bike” class where Haley finished in second position overall to Jazari Caisey in 2007.
In 2009 Haley graduated into the GP70 classification where she finished third overall in her rookie season followed by a second place overall in 2010.
In 2011 Haley moved up into the GP80 class, finishing second overall, and is currently the championship leader in 2012 as we approach the half-season mark.
Haley has achieved multiple top three finishes in her tenure as a motorcycle racer but does equally as well in her academic studies. Haley is accompanied by her sister (Tamia) and father (Bryce) in her love for the sport as they all have competed over the years.
Racing starts at 1pm on Sunday at Southside. Admission is $10 for adults, children under 12 and seniors are free.
