MONDAY, JANUARY 7:Â Dominique Mayho served notice of his intentions this season with a dominant performance in the 3rd Annual Dockyard to Ferry Reach Mountain Bike Race on Sunday.
In the curtain-raiser to the 2013 Bicyle Works Mountain Bike Season, 63 riders took on the 22-mile course, which took the competitors the length of the island.
Mayho assumed the lead from the start and by the time the chasing pack of Dexter Swan, Mark Hatherley, Phil Trussell, Macio Talbot and Chequan Richardson had reached half way, Mayho had a two-minute lead on his rivals.
He eventually finished five minutes ahead of second-place finisher Hatherley, with  Trussell, Richardson and Talbot crossing the line next.
The top female rider was Ashley Kirkpatrick, while Matthew Oliveira was the leading junior.
The action continues on Sunday at the Arboretum when race one of the eight-race Bicycle Works Mountain Bike Points Series gets under way at 9am.
