THURSDAY, SEPT. 13: Marsh and Guy Carpenter gave $25,000 to the Bermuda Sloop Foundation. Twenty Marsh and Guy Carpenter colleagues have also donated their time this month to take part in two voyages on the sail training vessel Spirit of Bermuda with children from various middle schools in Bermuda.
On each voyage, 10 volunteers from Marsh and Guy Carpenter and 10 students are learning to sail together while encouraging teamwork, mentoring, and personal and professional development. Marsh, a global leader in insurance broking and risk management, and Guy Carpenter, the leading global risk and reinsurance specialist, are operating companies of Marsh & McLennan Companies.
“We are committed to giving back to the local community not only with financial donations, but also with our time,” said David Ezekiel, Bermuda chairman of Marsh & McLennan Companies and chairman of Marsh’s Bermuda Charity Committee. “We were particularly inspired to work with the Bermuda Sloop Foundation because of the opportunity to interact one-on-one with young Bermudians for a character-building experience that’s set in such a dynamic learning environment.”
Voyages with Marsh and Guy Carpenter volunteers and local students are taking place on September 13 and 14.
