Look & Feel Hot: Don't forget sun block
Sun block should be put on 30 minutes before going into the sun, said Kim Dennis, skin specialist at Strands.
All About the Skin
Kim Dennis, skin specialist at Strands said the time you put on your sun care is very important.
“Put your sun care treatment on 30 minutes before going into the sun because that helps to prepare the skin.
‘It helps to bring the melanin to the surface. As soon as you step into the sun, it works.
“It’s great to reapply at the beach especially if you have been in the water but you get the best results if you have used it 30 minutes before.”
The therapist said face and body scrubs help eliminate peeling one can get from being in the sun.
As far as important tips, Ms Dennis said: “Just find your right protection and use it everyday.
“Use something on your skin everyday. If you can find a moisturizer with you SPF then you are covered on your face.”
Mr Dennis also said the level of SPF depended on one’s skin and how sensitive it is to the sun.
“People with a lighter skin tend to be more sensitive to the sun.
“People with darker skin tend to be more resilient.
‘It’s a good idea to get some advice so that you’re getting the right thing for your skin type.
“Sun protection protects you not only against the sun for also from pre-mature aging.”
