All About the Hair

Vernon G, senior stylist at Strands has tips for everything for trends to keeping healthy hair throughout the summer.

He says the main this is to be glamorous.

“This year it’s very big, voluptuous hair. Imagine you’re in Monaco at summer time, wearing your maxi dress, your wedges and your perfectly styled hair.

“To have that perfectly big hair, you have got to take care of your hair.”

With short cuts, Vernon said the style is a close crop.

“It’s also two dimension colour, from dark to really ice blonde.”

Hair regime

Vernon suggests women start immediately with a hair regime if they haven’t already got one so they can get the hair ready for the heat and humidity.

“The earlier you start with a regime, the better.”

He suggests the Moroccan Oil hair range from Strands.

“It’s so fine that it actually penetrates the hair. It improves your hair dramatically.

“You’re hair will be in a better condition the more you use it.”

He also suggested a hair mask.

The stylist also gave tips for hair in the salt water.

“When you finish swimming, cleanse the hair then rehydrate, re-nourish and re-moisturise.

“This season is about nourishment and hydrating the hair.”

Vernon said with black hair, women need to apply more moisture because the heat can burn the hair especially if grease is used.

Asked for the most important products, Vernon said nourishing shampoos, Moroccan oil, shining pomade and touches of glitter spray to go out.”

“The key thing this season is to have a relationship with your hair dresser.

“Talk about your needs and what you can afford.

“Have that relationship so that you can maximize the entire look with a great relationship with your hair dresser.

“Keep that relationship strong.”
