Letters / Perozzi

Give her money

I found the article on Teresa Perozzi very distressing. I don't understand why this lady who has more than proven herself to be a very dedicated athlete gets no support from the Government. She has given us a World Champion Title. We have thrown $11 million at a cricket team consisting of overweight non-committed players, who appear to be afraid of hitting a ball, yet we cannot offer our boxer a proper gym and resources to spar with suitable partners. It's disgusting. Teresa, please don't quit. We need more dedicated athletes like you.

Please don't quit

Surely, Government can throw $50,000 to $100,000 towards Teresa. If the cricket team can get $11,000,000, we should be giving money to a World Champion. I wonder if she's not getting any support because she's a woman.

Don't quit Teresa, you are an inspiration.

Perozzi lost

I attended the actual event on July 22. I am embarrassed for Teresa - she was out classed and out boxed. Her belt should no longer be hers and in her heart she knows it. Please ask her or the Athletic Association of Bermuda since when is it legal to provide your own scale to be weighed in on? Her corner also came to Ms Morales corner to ask if the Morales corner felt Perozzi won the fight. I guess the corruption in the world of boxing is in every corner. Ms. Perozzi should do a re-match here in the states where Ms. Morales can have fair judging. If the July 22 fight wasn't in Teresa's home island there would of been a different outcome. I hope she can sleep at night knowing corruption in the sport is the only reason she still has a belt. She got a royal ass whipping the worst of her career. I will be contacting Ed Hutchinson the president for NABC. I still want to know since when boxers supply equipment that according to the rules need to be supplied by and certified by the boxing commission and the Athletic Assoc. The rematch if Ms. Perozzi isn't too afraid will have a different outcome. I know that a knockout can't be corrupted.
