WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 5: Dear Sir,
I wonder if any of your veteran readers could tell me anything about the small passenger trip boat in the accompanying photograph.
She was called ‘Priscilla’ and is given as on a cruise in Bermuda. The vessel is an ex U.S. Navy 63ft AVR (Auxiliary Rescue Craft Aviation Related) or ‘Crash Boat’.
Designed by the Miami Shipbuilding Corporation, she was built in great numbers from 1941 to 1945.
What I would like to know is, what years she operated in Bermuda, what companies operated her in Bermuda, any ex or subsequent names, and what happened to her? And if anyone knows her original identity that would be a bonus.
