Classic organizer David Lambert said: "The Elbow Beach Tennis Classic is currently in its fifth year. Funds from this event are invested in Bermuda's top junior team players that will partake in the International Tennis Federation world ranking junior tournaments."
Lambert said: "We are enjoying a high level of tennis both locally and internationally. Our Junior Davis Cup team held their position finishing 12th out of 17 earlier this year. Bermuda won promotion in Davis Cup. We had juniors do very well in the ITF world ranking tournament in Bermuda in which we won some titles. We also did well in the Dominican Republic where we played a Level 3 Tournament and most recently our 13-under team won the Caribbean Championships. All of these players have benefited from funds raised during the Elbow Beach Celebrity Tennis Classic."
He added that on September 25 there would be a KPMG Tennis Clinic at the W.E.R. Joell Tennis Stadium with selected students from all of Bermuda's schools.
"I hope people will come out and support this weekend. It's only an $8 entry for adults and that money will go to support the juniors," Lambert said.
