FRIDAY, MAY 27: La Serena Spa at the Reefs has been voted ‘best in Bermuda’ by Condé Nast Traveler and its readers for the second consecutive year.
La Serena Spa was the #8 resort spa in the Caribbean and Atlantic region in Condé Nast Traveler’s 2011 list of the Top 250 Spas in the world.
With a score of 92.4, The Reefs is the top-rated resort spa in Bermuda. The only other Bermuda resort to make the list is the Fairmont Southampton, which came in at #19 with a score of 87.4.
The spas were voted on by Condé Nast Traveler’s readers during their 2010 Reader’s Choice survey, with the results gleaned from 25,916 responses. The list is featured in the publication’s June 2011 issue, on newsstands now, and available online.
Spa director Margarita Dodwell attributes the eight-room spa’s success to the focus on the guest experience. “It’s not the size or amenities that matter as much as the level of service,” says Mrs. Dodwell. “In fact, our intimate spa allows us to be more personal and service-oriented.”
“This award is well-deserved by our therapists and staff who exemplify the utmost in professionalism, take great pride in their work and truly care about their clients,” she adds.
Since it reopened in fall 2009, La Serena Spa has catered to both hotel guests and locals, with each treatment on the full-service menu customized to meet guests’ needs. La Serena Spa is the only Elemis of London spa in Bermuda, and therapists receive ongoing training from Elemis professionals. The spa also features a relaxation room with panoramic ocean views.
La Serena Spa is open daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Advanced reservations are encouraged.
