Kings Pins take over lead

King Pins moved into first place in the Commercial Bowling League with a 4-0 whitewash of Sweet Life. That triumph coupled with Double Trouble falling to Spinners, give the team a slim lead.

Spinners took 2.5 points off of Double Trouble while the Braves beat Sunset 3-1. Other scores saw Do It Best Masters down BTC 3-1 and Royal Gazette take out Strikers 3-1.

Michael Honore had a 213 game with both Justin Robinson and Chris Leverock rolling a 203. Maurice Lowe had a 202. Amongst the women, Kennelyn Smith was on top with 200. Doreen Smith (198) barely missed her 200 while both Nathalie Adderley and Terrlyn Jones rolling a 178.

Fishbowl League

They're baaaack! Marlins are tied atop the Fishbowl League after they beat Goldfish 4-0. The two teams are now 35-21 with Goldfish having a 71 pin advantage. The other two sweeps occurred at the bottom of the table with Mackerel beating Wahoo 4-0 and Tuna taking four from hammerheads.

Other scores saw Hinds and Porgies draw 2-2; Barracuda reeled in Dolphins 3-1; Cow Pollies beat Piranhas 3-1; and Snappers earned three points from Flying Fish.

Patrice Tucker rolled a 201 scratch game while Bruce Benevides had a 256 game. Some of the other 200s were rolled by Joseph Benevides 225, Brian Hollis 222, Clem Lespere 211 and Tim Doyle.

Other top women bowlers included Yvonne Joseph (185), Marguerite Lynch (181), Lisa Saints (164) and Marj Correia (154).

Perfect Storm League

Top Riders pulled off an upset when they squeezed an 11 to 9 triumph out of Hot Shots.

Top club Storm Runner beat X-Em Out 13 to 7 while second place Yeah-4-Us cooled off Blazin' Frames 17 to 3.

The league's other match saw Team Zone take 18 points from Spare Collectors. Zone's Brion Estis rolled a 210 game and 560 series. Team-mate Carolyn Welch helped out with a 173 game.

Tim Lodge (518 series) and Hazel Lodge (169) were the top bowlers for Spare Collectors.

Standings: 1. 77-31; 2. Habetes 70-38; 3. Spare Collectors; 4. Fireballs 55-53; 5. Ten Pins 52.5-55.5; 6. Up-N-Coming 48.5-59.5; 7. Trailblazers 48-60; 8. Here We Come 47-60; 9. TLC 44-64; 10. See-Breeze Strikers 39-69.

Continental League

Pinjammers hammered bottom club Odd Balls 29 to 1 to take over the lead in the Continental League. 'Jammers took advantage of Nifty Rollers falling 16 to 14 to Spicenix to make up a 14 game deficiet to take a one game lead.

Other scores saw Bermuda Pest Control exterminate the Invaders 25 to 5; Cubs took Quickie Lickie Laundry to the cleaners with a 21 to 9 victory; and Pinsplitters beat New Hope 25 to 5.

Bruce Benevides led all bowlers with a 224 game, but it was Clyde Burgess who took high series honours with a 584. Burgess rolled a 223 with both Mike McCallum and Woody Jones knocking down 212 pins. McCallum bowled a 572 series while Benevides had a 572.

Pebbles Tucker was the only woman who posted a 200 game. Kathy Christopher had a 193 while Prudy Spriggs rolled a 193. The order was reversed for series honours with Spriggs on top with a 552, Christopher next at 537 and Tucker third at 508.
