The pair competed in the National Track and Field Championships over the weekend, with neither making the Olympic B qualifying standard. However, the pair are set to be nominated for the two athletic slots Bermuda gets if no athletes qualifies.
The deadline for nomination for those spots was on Monday.
The pair could still be bumped from the team if an athlete qualifies by the July 23 deadline set by the International Amateur Athletic Federation.
They will join Flora Duffy, Roy-Allan Burch, Kiera Aitken and either Patrick Nesbitt or Jill Terceira. The equestrian spot is expected to be announced this week also with Nesbitt having the edge. Regardless of who gets the spot, all the athletes representing Bermuda in Beijing also competed in the Pan Am Games in March of 2007.
The six-member team will be Bermuda's third smallest all-time. Bermuda sent 10 athletes to the 2004 Athens Games.[[In-content Ad]]
