Juniors win two Caribbean cycling medals

SATURDAY, AUGUST 13: Bermuda turned out to be big wheels on the opening day of the 2011 Junior Caribbean Cycling Championship in Puerto Rico.

Bermuda came away with the gold in the girls time trial when Molly Pilgrim beat local favourite Coral Ramirez by two seconds.

Gabriella Arnold grabbed the other podium spot for Bermuda in the 10k time trial.

Dominque Mayho barely missed giving Bermuda its third medal when he finished fourth in the Junior Boys 17 to 18 age group. Joel Dirksz of Aruba was the winner. 

Tre-shun Correia finish ninth on the 20 kilometre course.

In the juvenile boys 15-16 group, Mark Godfrey finished sixth with Daelen Richardson14th over 15 kilometres. The group was won by Brandon Martinez of Puerto Rico with Ricardo Romney (Anguilla) and Elvis Reyes (Dominican Repulbic).

The road race is slated for Sunday.
