Juniors gain ground

Pembroke Juniors clawed back six games in the Barritt’s League as they try to derail Haascobe from winning the league title. Juniors defeated Sparks 25 to 5 while Haascobe could only muster a 19 to 11 victory over Bouchee. Jermaine DeSilva managed the high series of 619 with a 206.33 average but didn’t make the high game list. George Ben had a 214, edging Willoughby Harvey and Dean Lightbourn by one pin. Lightbourn had a 589 series while Ben rolled a 572. Scores: Pembroke Jrs 25, Sparks 5; Young Bloods 4, Pin Raiders 26; Team Bouchee 11, Haascobe 19; PH Club 25.5; Bye 4.5.

Standings: 1. Haascobe 483-177; 2. Pembroke Jrs 461-199; 3. P.H. Club 440.5-216; 4. Pin Raiders 331.5; 328.5; 5. Team Bouchee 309.5-344.5; 6. Sparks 285-375; 7. Young Bloods 248.5-408.5.

Fishbowl League

Amberfish beat Goldfish 3-1 in a battle of the league’s top teams. The triumph gives Amberfish  a 6.5 game lead.  Patrice Tucker’s 215 was the top game bowled by a woman but she wasn’t the only female over the 200 mark. Lelina Niere (209), Cathy Kemp (204) and Juliette Smith (203) all rolled well.

Niere had the high handicap series with a 729. Kemp had a 676 while Cathee Tumbridge rolled a 669. Ivan Trott had the high game with a 216 but Stephen Paul (204), Vernon Daniels (202), Brian Botelho (201) and Malcolm Santucci (201) all rolled well. Botelho notched the high handicap series with a 687, slipping past Trott’s total by three pins. Hanny Consolacion had a 651.

Commercial League

King Pins reduced its debt to BTC to three games in bowling Monday night at Warwick Lanes. King Pins defeated Spinners 3-1 while BTC lost by the same score to Sunset.

Sharon Gibson rolled a 635 handicap series to best the rest of the women. She edged Corrine Durrant by five pins while Zina Jones had a 626. Durrant had the high game with a 188, which was three pins better than Carla Clarke. Both Tine Sims and Gibson rolled a 178.

Three men managed to roll a 200 or better with Kenny Ford’s 253 the high game. 

Wayne Raynor (221) and John Adams (200) also bowled well. Raynor had the high handicap series with a 654 with Ford just five pins back at 649. Jason Ford had the third high handicap series with a 633.
